Edo (Nia) Odozor

Nia is a 300hr trauma sensitive trained meditation guide, registered nurse, social entrepreneur, sound artist, facilitator and dedicated student of life. Having moved through years of severe adversity, she dedicates her life's work to transforming her experiences into restorative experiences for women and gender diverse people of colour. Her work has led her to collaborate with brands such as Artizia, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Peel district school board and more.

Taking Care

Taking Care is a 3 part series for women and gender diverse people of colour that addresses the stigmas associated with sexual and reproductive wellness. Workshops for the series include a pelvic-floor focused yogalates class, a sex and relationships session and a sexual health clinic.

      Le fonctionnement du projet

      Our first step will be to organize a physiotherapist led pelvic floor and somatic release focused yoga and pilates session for 20 participants in February 2026, securing a venue and partnerships by January 2026. Our second step will be to deliver a creativity based workshop centered in sex and relationships for women and gender diverse people of colour in March 2026, partnering with a racialized psychotherapist. Our final step will be to coordinate and deliver a community sexual health clinic in collaboration with Call Auntie in April 2026.

      We intend to address the shame and stigma that pervades women and gender diverse people of colour around sexual and reproductive health and wellness. We are looking to connect the community to culturally-relevant services and resources. We intend to impact our community by building their knowledge base, self-esteem and resource them in their care journeys.

      Our mission is to reduce shame and stigma around sexual and reproductive wellness amongst women and gender diverse people of colour, by offering mindful, culturally-sensitive gatherings and a clinic.
