Youth Pop Up Market
The Youth Pop-Up Market in the Niagara Region will run from February to August, giving young people a chance to access healthy, affordable groceries while learning practical skills in budgeting, nutrition, and sustainable living. This project is especially for students who are newcomers, refugees, or from low-income families, who often face challenges in finding nutritious food on a limited budget. Hosted in partnership with Links for Greener Learning and the Niagara Public Library, the pop-ups will take place at schools and community centers, creating a welcoming space for youth to explore healthy eating, connect with others, and feel supported. Any small revenue generated will be reinvested to make sure the market can keep running. Beyond groceries, this initiative helps youth build confidence, financial literacy, and a sense of community, while learning about sustainability and environmental responsibility.
