Libin Abdi

I’m passionate about making a real difference in my community by bringing people together and helping young people lead the way. I love organizing local events, running hands-on workshops, and making sure everyone in our neighbourhood has a voice and the tools they need to succeed. For me, strong leadership starts with actually listening to what people need and working side-by-side to fix problems. I’m excited about this fellowship because I want to learn new skills, connect with other young leaders, and make a bigger, lasting impact right where it matters most.

Mommy Drive

Mommy Drive is a community initiative that brings local mothers and their babies together for a supportive, welcoming event. The project provides families with essential baby supplies and resources while creating a safe space for mothers to bond, share experiences, and build lasting connections. By focusing on both practical needs and peer support, Mommy Drive ensures young families feel valued, cared for, and connected to their community.

      The Mommy Drive hosts a single-day community gathering bringing together mothers and babies. Over a four-hour event, families receive essential baby supplies, participate in guided bonding activities, and connect with local peer support networks to build lasting relationships.

      The Mommy Drive’s mission is to empower local mothers and nourish healthy early childhood development. Our goals are to relieve immediate financial pressure by providing essential baby supplies, build meaningful peer connections to combat maternal isolation, and create an inclusive, long-term support network where every mother and baby can thrive together.
