Nicole Doray

Hi! I’m Nicole. I’m a service designer and facilitator who is passionate about sustainability and social impact. I run Sol Design Lab- a collective of professionals who work to solve environmental and social challenges in Toronto, Canada.

City-Wide Design Lab

The Sol City-Wide Design Lab is a full-day convening that brings together racialized, Indigenous, LGBTQ2IA+, and newcomer Torontonians alongside municipal city staff, aligned corporate supporters, funders, and innovators to co-design community-led climate solutions for Toronto.

À propos de ce projet

Communautés servies

Voici les objectifs de développement durable associés à mon projet

Les objectifs de développement durable de l’ONU

Il est possible de catégoriser les projets à impact communautaire selon les objectifs de développement durable de l’ONU. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      Le fonctionnement du projet

We create spaces for community voices to be uplifted and for their requests to be actioned through redistributive, co-operative, community-led climate action. We call these spaces Design Labs- interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder spaces for co-creation and solutions building.

      Résumé de l'impact

Climate spaces consistently fail to center the communities most impacted by the climate crisis — particularly racialized, Indigenous, LGBTQ2IA+, and newcomer community members. Sol was built to address this directly, creating spaces for co-creation and power redistribution within the climate movement.

      Résumé de la mission

Non-conventional solutions-building that centers community voices

      Équipe du projet

Sol Design Collective was built by women and non-binary organizers who have spent careers advancing climate and social justice from within leading institutions. They came together to build something rooted in community power, anti-oppression, and intersectional movement-building.
