Salina Gulati
As a young community leader, I am passionate about identifying gaps in my community and turning ideas into meaningful action. As a Fellow with Sprout Ideas Fellowship, I have focused on improving access to technology and digital literacy by developing an initiative that helps make digital resources more accessible to those who may otherwise face barriers. My experiences studying abroad, working in leadership roles, and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds have taught me the importance of listening first and creating solutions based on what people genuinely need. I hope to continue using my education, experiences, and leadership skills to create practical initiatives that strengthen my community and encourage other young people to become involved in making a difference.
Digital Literacy Support Program
The Digital Literacy Support Program is a youth-led initiative focused on improving technology accessibility and digital literacy within the community. The project aims to reduce barriers to technology by providing individuals with greater access to digital resources, tools, and learning opportunities. Through community engagement and practical support, the initiative helps participants build confidence using technology while promoting greater digital inclusion and ensuring that more people can benefit from an increasingly connected world.

Le fonctionnement du projet
From October to January, the project will offer hands-on digital literacy sessions for older adults, beginning with basic device use and progressing to online services, communication, and digital safety. Participants will learn at their own pace through guided practice, opportunities to ask questions, and ongoing support from volunteers.

The project helps bridge the digital divide by providing community members with greater access to technology, digital resources, and practical learning opportunities. By building confidence and essential digital skills, participants are better equipped to stay connected, access important services, pursue new opportunities, and navigate an increasingly digital world with greater independence.

The project was created to ensure older adults are not left behind as everyday life becomes increasingly digital. Its goal is to create a welcoming space where participants can learn at their own pace, ask questions without hesitation, and gain practical knowledge they can carry into their daily lives, while encouraging greater inclusion across generations.
