Programme intergénérationnel jumelant jeunes et aînés au téléphone
The "Et si on se racontait?" program is an intergenerational project that brings together seniors and young people around an intergenerational dialogue. Initiated by CEGEP student Maxine Joly-Chevrier and OBNL Contact Aînés in March 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic, this project pairs young people and seniors over the phone and by videoconference for a few weeks, so that together they can write about each other's lives. All subjects are approached with kindness, attentiveness and respect!

How the project works
The program brings generations closer together by organizing annual pen-pal telephone exchanges between seniors and young people. The pairs write texts inspired by their exchanges and compile them in a book published at the end of the year. The book is distributed to seniors' residences, libraries and community centers.

Project Impact
Over 500 hours of calls across the province resulted in 2 books written by two cohorts of 30 young and older authors.
Project Mission
The mission of the "Et si on se racontait? project is to bring generations closer together and break social isolation by encouraging intergenerational dialogue. The project aims to enable seniors and young people to better understand each other by sharing their experiences, and to create lasting links between them by publishing their stories in a book.

Project Team
We're a team of dozens of volunteers from high school, CEGEP and university.
