HALIFAX, NS

Hi I'm Aarushi! As someone who grew up in small community, I've learnt how the right community can make all the difference, which is why wherever I go, I strive to make people feel valued and welcomed. With Love From the Heart is my way of giving back to the backbone of our communities and one of my biggest support systems, our mothers. Outside of my work, I'm a dog lover, ocean enthusiast and always looking for new places to explore. When I am not doing all of that, you'll probably find me on a stage somewhere singing my heart out and spending time with those I love!

With Love From the Heart

With Love From the Heart is a not-for-profit organization aimed at reducing the stigma around women's mental health, with a special focus on postpartum challenges. Through advocacy, education and community support, the project empowers everyone to speak more openly about postpartum health conditions, encouraging more to seek help and find a community. With Love From the Heart creates a safe space for healing and open dialogue surrounding maternal mental health.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

The project will launch a society at Dalhousie University through which events to raise awareness and donations will be hosted. Other than that, the primary focus will be on social media aiming to create and inclusive, supportive online space where people can share experiences, access resources and in turn encourage more open discussions and reducing the stigma.

      Project Impact

Mothers are the heart of our community, they literally bring life into the world. While physical health after birth is often prioritized, mental health is frequently overlooked. This project shines a light on postpartum mental health. It will create awareness, and reduce the stigma so that no mother feels alone.

      Project Mission

Our mission is to reduce the stigma around postpartum mental health and open more discussions. By raising awareness and building communities, the projects aims to break the silence and help mothers feel safe and supported through their challenges.

      Project Team

A passionate group of people dedicated to raising awareness and support for mental health.
