Honestly l, I don’t know what to say…I am some that loves being outdoors (walking, biking, hiking, etc.), doing crafts, and hanging out with people. I thought to combine these in the form of a program to help younger members of my community experience these as well and to help them develop their own interests and hobbies.
Pathways to Belonging
Pathways to Belonging is a community program that aims to help newcomer children and youth in Calgary feel welcome and connected. Through sports, games, arts and crafts, and fun outings, participants will be encouraged to make friends, build confidence, learn new skills, and feel more at home in their new community.

About this Project
Communities Served
My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
From August to September (and possibly October) Pathways to Belonging will offer weekly sports, arts and crafts, workshops, and community outings.

Project Impact
The aim of the project is to help newcomer children feel welcomed, connected, and supported as they adjust to life in Calgary. By building friendships, confidence, and a sense of community, the program reduces social isolation and encourages participants to become active, engaged members of their new community.
Project Mission
The mission of Pathways to Belonging is to help newcomer children and youth thrive as they settle into life in Calgary. The goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where participants can build friendships, gain confidence, develop new skills, and explore their city through engaging activities.
Project Team
This project is led by me with support from dedicated parent and community volunteers.
