Daniel Owoeye

I am a community leader, educator, and student-athlete dedicated to empowering youth through sport and wellness. Combining my background as a nursing graduate with years of competitive basketball, I bridge healthcare, athletics, and mentorship to cultivate resilience, confidence, and personal growth in the next generation.

Daniel Owoeye Youth Basketball Camp

This initiative provides an inclusive, high-impact basketball camp for youth facing financial, systemic, or personal barriers to sports participation. Through basketball training, mentorship, mental health and nutrition education, leadership development, and access to free gear, participants strengthen their athletic abilities while building confidence, resilience, discipline, and a growth mindset. Guided by experienced coaches and athletes, the camp uses basketball as a platform to foster meaningful connections, personal growth, and greater opportunities for youth both on and off the court.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

From August to September, the project planned will deliver a youth basketball camp and a Mental Health 1v1 Tournament. Activities include basketball skill development, mentorship, mental health and nutrition education, leadership workshops, competitive gameplay, and community engagement, providing youth with opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and personal growth through sport.

      Project Impact

This project will expand access to basketball, mentorship, and personal development for youth facing barriers to participation. Participants will strengthen their basketball skills, confidence, resilience, teamwork, communication, leadership, and mental well-being. By connecting youth with supportive coaches, athletes, and mentors, the project aims to create lasting relationships and inspire participants to pursue their goals and give back to their communities.

      Project Mission

My mission is to use basketball as a tool for youth empowerment, providing accessible opportunities for skill development, mentorship, mental wellness, and leadership. By supporting youth facing barriers to participation, I aim to build resilience, confidence, discipline, and a growth mindset while creating a lasting culture of encouragement, inclusion, and community.
