Tattweer Community Development Institute

This project aims to bring together women in skills-building workshops to develop their independence and build relationships with others to foster community.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

The timeframe runs from October to December. I will first pay the non-profit registration fees, buy the equipment, and rent a space. Then, planning the workshop content and marketing. We have already developed the promotional materials and a plan for how to reach community members.

      Project Impact

This project is still in progress, but we hope to reach about 100 women that will attend more than one workshop.

      Project Mission

We aim to foster community and a sense of belonging for newcomer women whose isolation often puts them in vulnerable positions within society. We aim to have a "cohort" of 100 women where we can develop their skills and communities through variable workshops.

      Project Team

My team is made of two teachers, a social worker, a nurse, and a student, all of which are women immigrants who mostly initially had experiences with isolation and vulnerability.
