Mochila-Mochila: Gear to Get Afuera

“Mochila-Mochila: Gear to Get Afuera” is a project that gives Latinas in Canada access to high-quality gear to experience the outdoors. Sharing is caring, and gear is meant to be used. Mochila-Mochila works as a gear lending library, helping ensure that a lack of gear is no longer a barrier to outdoor adventures.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

How does Mochila-Mochila work? Are you a Latina in Canada? Do you need outdoor gear for your next adventure but do not have it? Check our inventory, request your gear, pick it up, ENJOY IT, clean it, and bring it back. REPEAT!

      Project Impact

In its first year, Mochila Mochila aims to support at least 50 Latinas in accessing outdoor adventures, with the gear library continuing to serve new participants for years to come.

      Project Mission

Mochila Mochila aims to make the outdoors more accessible to Latinas in Canada by removing the cost of gear as a barrier to participation. By sharing equipment, we hope to enable more Latinas to explore the outdoors, try new activities, build community, and discover that adventure belongs to all of us.

      Project Team

Currently a team of one, hoping you will join and help make it a team of many!
