I am a young community leader passionate about community engagement, storytelling, and creating spaces for meaningful dialogue. With a background in Communication and Media Studies, I am committed to strengthening the Somali community by connecting people, organizations, and different generations. I am passionate about youth leadership and creating opportunities for community members to share their perspectives, build relationships, and contribute to meaningful change. I believe stronger communities are built through connection, collaboration, and collective action.

Community Voices, Collective Action

Community Voices, Collective Action creates spaces for Somali community members, leaders, and organizations to connect, share experiences, and learn from different perspectives. Through community roundtables, storytelling, and relationship-building, the project aims to strengthen connections within and across cities. By creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and collaboration, the project will help identify shared priorities, highlight community voices, and encourage collective action toward a stronger and more connected Somali community.

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      Over the project period, the team will engage community members, leaders, and organizations through outreach, roundtables, storytelling, and cross-city relationship-building. Activities will include documenting community perspectives, strengthening partnerships, and sharing insights through a final showcase.

      Project Impact

      The project will strengthen connections within the Somali community by creating opportunities for people to share perspectives, learn from one another, and build relationships. It will amplify community voices, connect organizations and leaders across cities, and create a foundation for continued collaboration and community-driven action beyond the project.

The project will create spaces for community members, leaders, and organizations to share experiences, build relationships, identify shared priorities, and learn from different perspectives. It will connect communities across cities and turn conversations into collective action and stronger community connections.
