Manan Taneja
Manan Taneja is a Grade 11 student at Evan Hardy Collegiate in Saskatoon and the founder of DARE. As a first generation Canadian raised by a single mother, he built DARE from a simple belief that students struggle not because they lack ability but because nobody taught them how to succeed in modern student life. Through peer led workshops, community partnerships, and a growing social media presence, Manan is creating a youth movement that gives students the tools schools often cannot.
DARE: Peer Led Youth Workshops for Focus and Student Wellness
DARE is a Canadian youth led program delivering free workshops to high school students on focus, digital awareness, mental health, and study habits. Built on the belief that students struggle not because they lack ability but because nobody taught them the right systems, DARE uses peer led sessions and research backed tools to help students become more focused, resilient, and empowered. Originally launched in Saskatoon, DARE has since expanded to Calgary with plans for continued growth across Canada.

About this Project

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
DARE delivers free 45 minute peer led workshops to high school students across Saskatoon and Calgary. Each session combines research backed content, interactive activities, and practical tools around focus, digital awareness, mental health, and study habits. Impact is measured through post workshop surveys and follow up check ins.
Project Impact
DARE reaches high school students who lack access to practical tools for focus, mental health, and digital wellness. Through free peer led workshops, students leave each session with strategies they can apply immediately. Impact is measured through post workshop surveys tracking awareness and behavior change across Saskatoon and Calgary.
Project Mission
DARE exists to give students the tools and awareness schools often cannot provide. Our mission is to help young people become more focused, resilient, and empowered through honest peer led conversations and practical strategies. Our goal is to reach hundreds of students across Canada through free workshops, starting in Saskatoon and expanding city by city.
