Navrojpreet Kaur

I’m Navroj, a Grade 12 student and youth community leader from Saskatoon with a passion for healthcare, leadership, and community service. Through volunteering with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and other community initiatives, I’ve developed a strong interest in improving the experiences of patients and families. I founded CARE to turn that passion into action by empowering youth to create meaningful, community-driven solutions within healthcare. I enjoy bringing people together, developing new ideas, and turning those ideas into projects that create real impact. Through the Sprout Ideas Fellowship, I hope to grow as a leader while expanding CARE’s reach and creating opportunities for other young people to make a difference in their communities.

CARE

CARE is a youth-led initiative working to improve patient and family experiences in healthcare. The project will develop and distribute CARE Kits containing thoughtful, practical items for patients and families, in collaboration with healthcare and community organizations. CARE will also create accessible healthcare education through social media, helping youth and families better understand healthcare experiences and topics. Through these efforts, CARE aims to empower youth, strengthen community connections, and create meaningful, patient-centred impact in Saskatchewan.

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      CARE will work with healthcare and community partners to identify patient needs, develop and assemble CARE Kits, and distribute them to patients and families. The team will also create accessible healthcare education content and engage youth volunteers. Project activities will take place from September 2026 through January 2027.

      Project Impact

      CARE aims to make healthcare experiences more supportive and accessible for patients and families while empowering youth to become active community leaders. Through CARE Kits, healthcare education, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local organizations, the project will provide practical support, increase awareness, and create meaningful opportunities for youth to contribute to their community.
