Regina Ajong

I am a young mom and community leader based in Calgary who is passionate about empowering youth, supporting families, and creating meaningful social impact. My experiences as a mother, healthcare professional, and community volunteer have strengthened my commitment to promoting health equity, confidence, and leadership. I enjoy bringing people together through mentorship, advocacy, and community initiatives that address real needs. I believe lasting change begins with compassion, collaboration, and service, and I strive to inspire others while building stronger, more inclusive communities for the next generation.

Care & Connect

Care & Connect is a community-based initiative that supports new mothers by promoting postpartum mental health, self-care, and social connection. Through workshops led by nurses and wellness professionals, participants will learn about postpartum depression, emotional wellness, and available community resources. The project also provides thoughtfully curated care packages with self-care essentials for mothers and practical baby items, helping families feel supported, connected, and empowered during the postpartum journey.

About this Project

Communities Served

My project will involve and/or impact the following communities:

    United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

Care & Connect will run over 6–8 weeks, including project planning, participant recruitment, one postpartum wellness workshop led by nurses and wellness professionals, distribution of care packages for 10–15 mothers and their babies, and a follow-up evaluation to measure participant knowledge, well-being, and overall program impact.

      Project Impact

Care & Connect will improve the well-being of new mothers by increasing awareness of postpartum depression, promoting self-care, and reducing isolation. Through expert-led education, peer support, and care packages for mothers and babies, participants will gain practical knowledge, confidence, and access to community resources, helping them navigate the postpartum journey and build healthier, more connected families.

      Project Mission

Care & Connect empowers new mothers by providing postpartum mental health education, self-care resources, and meaningful connections with healthcare professionals and community support to promote healthy, confident families.
