Salim Ghazal

I'm a young community leader passionate about creating opportunities that help youth feel connected, supported, and empowered. I believe recreation is a powerful way to build friendships, confidence, and leadership while strengthening community ties. Through organizing youth initiatives and volunteer-led programs, I strive to create safe, welcoming spaces where young people can grow, give back, and develop into future leaders. My goal is to make a lasting, positive impact by bringing people together through meaningful experiences that foster belonging and personal growth.

Muslim Youth Summer Connect

Muslim Youth Summer Connect brings Muslim youth together through sports, recreation, mentorship, and community events that foster belonging, leadership, and positive relationships. Through a basketball tournament, bowling outing, community BBQ, and back-to-school support, the project creates safe, inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, strengthen friendships, and stay connected to their community while developing lifelong skills and a strong sense of purpose.

      How the project works

      Muslim Youth Summer Connect runs from July to August 2026, delivering a basketball tournament, bowling outing, community BBQ, and back-to-school support. Each activity promotes leadership, friendship, and community engagement while providing Muslim youth with safe, welcoming spaces to connect, build confidence, and develop positive relationships.

      Project Impact

      Muslim Youth Summer Connect will strengthen community connections by giving Muslim youth safe, welcoming opportunities to build friendships, develop leadership skills, stay active, and feel a stronger sense of belonging. The project also helps reduce social isolation while supporting confidence, personal growth, and positive engagement within the community.
