Samriddhi Shrestha
Samriddhi is an undergraduate student in physiology and a community leader based in Edmonton. She is passionate about fostering strong leadership and mentorship in her project and daily life, as these values have a significant impact on building a thriving community. Samriddhi is a co-founder of Linking Education in Edmonton, where she builds community by creating a safe space for newcomer parents and their children to learn about the Edmontonian education system together. LEED also provides a space for meaningful conversations to be shared between former students and incoming students.
Linking Education in Edmonton (LEED)
Linking Education in Edmonton (LEED) is a student-led organization (established. 2024) aimed at helping newcomer families and students become acquainted with the Edmonton high school system, university application process, and scholastic opportunities available to them by offering information through free, accessible online/in-person workshops and our website “info hub.” LEED also offers networking opportunities for current students and student groups.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
Through September to January, we will be offering many in-person workshops and networking sessions. In September, we will host a University Admissions workshop. In December, we will host our High School Programs, Scholarships, Research, and Volunteer workshop. Sprinkled in throughout will be smaller workshops with various community groups and schools.
Project Impact
We want to ensure that high school students are being supported by equipping their family with the knowledge to help guide the students' in their journeys, and the students to feel confident that they will find the personalized guidance they need, no matter what path they are taking.
Project Mission
Our mission is to create a space for parents and their children to learn together about high school programs, scholarships, research, and volunteer opportunities.
