D.U.B. MiniMastermind: Barbering & Braiding
D.U.B. MiniMastermind: Barbering & Braiding aims to equip Black and racialized youth with practical barbering and braiding skills while fostering self sufficiency, entrepreneurship, and creative expression. Through hands on instruction from professional barbers and braiders, participants will develop foundational techniques, explore pathways to earning income through their skills, and build confidence in their ability to create opportunities for themselves and contribute positively to their communities.

When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.
How the project works
The project will run over four weeks, delivering weekly three hour hands on barbering and braiding workshops. Youth will learn foundational techniques from professional instructors.
Project Impact
The project will increase participants practical skills, confidence, and knowledge of entrepreneurship and income generation. Youth will gain foundational barbering and braiding abilities that can support future employment, self employment, and creative expression.
Project Mission
The project’s goals are to teach practical barbering and braiding techniques, build confidence and self sufficiency, introduce pathways to income generation, and create opportunities for youth to strengthen their skills while celebrating cultural identity.
