Create to Heal: A bridging minds initiativd
Create to Heal is a creative wellness initiative designed to help Black youth explore mental health, culture, and self-expression through art. The project creates a safe, culturally affirming space where participants can use creative practices such as photography, journaling, collage, dance, and storytelling to reflect, connect, and build healthy coping tools. By reconnecting creativity with identity and community, Create to Heal encourages youth to see creativity as a meaningful part of everyday wellness.

How the project works
Create to Heal runs through hands-on creative workshops where Black youth explore wellness through photography, journaling, collage, dance, storytelling, and other art forms. Participants learn practical creative wellness tools, build community, reflect on their experiences, and celebrate their culture through a final showcase.
Project Impact
Create to Heal empowers Black youth to explore wellness through creativity, culture, and self-expression. By providing accessible creative activities and culturally relevant spaces, the project encourages connection, reduces stigma around mental health, and gives participants practical tools to build healthier, more sustainable creative lifestyles.
Project Mission
Create to Heal’s mission is to empower Black youth to use creativity, culture, and self-expression as tools for wellness. We aim to create accessible, culturally affirming spaces where young people can connect, create, learn practical wellness strategies, and build healthier relationships with themselves and their communities.
